Dusko Tosic, Serbian defensive-midfielder/defender is on a verge of signing a contract with 6 times in a row French champions, Lyon. Lyon is said to be seriously interested in the young Serb but so are the giants from Marseille and Monaco. Lyon are concerned with selling Abidal, but that should happen as Abidal will probably move in the English Premiership. Where ever Tosic goes his girlfriend Jelena Karleusa will surely enjoy herself.

Bojan Krkic To Play For Serbia???
For those of you who don't know the 411 on this player: Bojan Krkic is half Serbian Half Spanish (Catalonian) whose father is Serbian and mother from Catalonia. Krkic is said to have a mixture of Ronaldinho's and Messi's skills and agility. The speed of Messi and technique of Ronaldinho. He pretty much grew up in F.C. Barcelona organization and has played for all the younger Spanish national sides. However, the FIFA rule is that a player has until the age of 21 to decide for what national team he will play. Bojan's mother told her son to play either for Catalonia (not Spain) or for Serbia! So Serbia can still hope for Krkic to play for their A side. I hope he plays for Serbia as Serbia already has some exceptional young players and only imagine if Krkic would fill in the equation. This would mean a couple of European Championships and World Cups for Serbia for sure..... Lets remind that already one wunderkind Kuzmanovic changed from Swiss U-21 to Serbia A squad.

Serbia Finally Where They Belong...
Serbian soccer players are once again being scouted and are signing contract with elite soccer clubs. Slobodan Rajkovic will be seen in PSV along with Danko Lazovic, Aleksandar Kolarov has signed a contract with Lazio and Bosko Jankovic will most likely transfer from Mallorca to Valencia for a nice chunk of change (10+ million euros). Dejan Milovanovic is being watched by Bayern Munich scouts.

Brazilian in FK Partizan!
After deciding not to extend Ivica Kralj's, Cirkovic's, Nadj's and Bajic's contracts FK Partizan Director Ivan Tomic is going to sign the Brazilian Juliano Roberto Antonello "Juca" from the Brazilian side Botafogo. Juca is a defensive midfielder reminding of Pirlo but with a much stronger shot with his powerful right foot. Juca should sign the final contract this Saturday.
UPDATE: Juca has signed a 2+1 year deal today with FK Partizan and will wear #8.

Sasa Ilic In Salzburg!
Sasa Ilic has passed all the medical tests and has signed the final contract with Red Bull Salzburg. Sazlburg's coach Lothar Matheus said that Ilic was #1 on their wish lists, and now that they have signed him Salzburg midfield seems much more indepth and stronger. Lets hope that Ilic shines in Austria as he did in Turkey and maybe we see him in the Serbian National squad some time soon.
As Promised.....

This Week's Interesting Stories:
A lot of good soccer this week and a lot of transfers. In EURO 2008 Qualifying, Armenia made a sensational shock by defeating Poland 1:0, Finland defeated Belgium 2:0 and Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan played a 1:1 draw. Serbia and Portugal sitting this one out and is almost clear that Portugal and Serbia will be the contenders for the first spot in that group as Poland seems to be losing the "magic touch". Another great game took place in Zagreb, Croatia where Croatia and Russia ended in a 0:0 draw, but an excellent played game with a lot of attacking football. As far as club football goes, it's very interesting that Buffon extended his contract with Juventus even though he said that he wanted to leave, the contract is valid until 2012 when Buffon will probably end his career. Roberto Carlos will join LA Galaxy as his contract had expired with Real Madrid and will join Galaxy on a free transfer, nothing new on Ivica Kralj who is also supposed to sign for the LA side. Frank Ribery the Frenchman has signed a contract with Bayern Munich and Finally, Danko Lazovic had signed with PSV Eindhoven. He is the second Serbian in 3 years to wear number nine for the club after Mateja Kezman a.k.a "Batman". Lazovic reminds me more of the "Punisher" which is what he literately does for a living 'punishing the opposing team for every mistake made and sometimes has a problem with his attitude" In the next post I will give every Serbian player who is in the starting 'A' squad a Super Hero nickname. Thank you for reading this post.

Finland vs Serbia 0:2 (0:1)
Excellent game in Helsinki for the Serbs. The early goal scored by Bosko Jankovic allowed Serbia to control the game how they wanted to. Serbia dominated 70% and Finland only looked dangerous only in a few occasions but Serbian star defenders Nemanja Vidic and Mladen Krstajic made it almost impossible for The Finland side to convert. Serbia scored their second goal in the last quarter of the second half where Milan Jovanovic scored on his debut from Danko Lazovic's assist. Serbia today didn't just get the two goals and three points, Serbia can also be proud of Antonio Rukavina and Zdravko Kuzmanovic as they were the two youngest players on the field and yet probably the bravest. They both had a few cracks on the goal and I must say that this new attribute is mostly important for Serbia. Serbia finally has not one, but two players that have courage to take long shots. Finally, I must congratulate the whole Serbian squad for their immaculate performance against Finland and the superiority that they showed.

Serbian Super League Complete!
Today the Serbian Super League has completed. Red Star officially raised the trophy today in front of its 20,000 fans with a 1:1 draw against Hajduk Kula and Partizan finished second with an impressive 7:1 win against Mladost Apatin. By the way, Partizan fans (Grobari) have returned from a 2 year boycott for their final match against Mladost. Bezanija upset Vojvodina 3:2 as hosts. The five teams that will represent Serbian club football in Europe will be Red Star, (Champions League Qual.) Partizan, Vojvodina, Bezanija (UEFA Cup Qual) and Hajduk Kula (Intertoto Cup) The new system with play-off and play-out did not make much impact towards the improvement of the competition and so it's already being discussed that changes will be made to how the Serbian Super League will function next season. Red Star have a lot to be proud of as they clinched that double crown (10th) for the second time in a row. Partizan had a shameful season with amazing 11 defeats. I must say that I was pretty impressed by Vojvodina's display through out the season as they probably played the most beautiful football. Bezanija had an excellent season and have everything to be proud of as in their first season with the Elite they managed to earn a spot in the UEFA Cup qualification. In my opinion, not because I am Serbian but because I am a soccer fan there is still a great amount of talent in Serbia but bad politics and the country's bad economy has lead to poor audience attendance. Something must be done to bring back the people to watch the games again. Hopefully some changes occur soon.

The New Kings of Europe, Milan!
In a game that reminded more of a preliminary group meeting, A.C. Milan easily defeated Liverpool in the 2007 Champions League Final. The final score was 2:1 and even though that the scoreline does not represent Milan's overpowering of Liverpool but Milan had the game initiative throughout the whole game. Milan took the lead in the first half when Pirlo's free-kick was deflected into the goal by Pipo Inzaghi. The second half was a little boring to watch as Milan was controlling the middle of the field. In the 82nd minute Inzaghi made it 2:0. Liverpool responded with one goal in the 87th minute when Dirk Kuyt beat Dida with a beautiful header. But, it was a little too late and Milan got their revenge from the 2005 Champions league final. I must say that I was a little disappointed in both sides as neither Milan, nor Liverpool came out ready to play for the fans. Maybe all the players got drunk the night before the match (haha). Congratulations to A.C. Milan but hopefully we watch a more attractive final next year.
