The New Kings of Europe, Milan!

In a game that reminded more of a preliminary group meeting, A.C. Milan easily defeated Liverpool in the 2007 Champions League Final. The final score was 2:1 and even though that the scoreline does not represent Milan's overpowering of Liverpool but Milan had the game initiative throughout the whole game. Milan took the lead in the first half when Pirlo's free-kick was deflected into the goal by Pipo Inzaghi. The second half was a little boring to watch as Milan was controlling the middle of the field. In the 82nd minute Inzaghi made it 2:0. Liverpool responded with one goal in the 87th minute when Dirk Kuyt beat Dida with a beautiful header. But, it was a little too late and Milan got their revenge from the 2005 Champions league final. I must say that I was a little disappointed in both sides as neither Milan, nor Liverpool came out ready to play for the fans. Maybe all the players got drunk the night before the match (haha). Congratulations to A.C. Milan but hopefully we watch a more attractive final next year.

LIverpool and A.C. Milan will play in the Champions League Final.

After both Liverpool and Milan lost first leg matches to Chelsea and Manchester Unitet both have risen to the occasion at their home stadiums and claimed the Champions League Final spots. Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties 4:1 and Milan beat Man U 3:0 at home which made the final aggregate score 5:3 for Milan. The final shall be an interesting match as it's a rematch from the 2005 Champions League final where Liverpool climbed back from 3:0 to 3:3 and eventually won on penalties. A little less that 2 weeks remain till the greatest Club final in the world which will take place in Athens, Greece.

Manchester United vs A.C. Milan 3:2 [Champions League]

Excellent game today at Old Trafford. Manchester United took an early lead with Dida's own goal even though the goal might be given to Cristiano Ronaldo. Milan then took a lead with Kaka's goals in 22nd and 37th minute. But, Wayne Rooney was a bit too much for A.C Milan's defense as he scored in 59th and broke Milan's heart in the 90th minute with a wonderful goal. A.C. Milan still have a respectable score and can hope to clinch the final in the second leg. 1:0 Milan win in the second leg would take A.C. Milan in the Champions League final.

A.C. Milan vs Bayern Munich - PSV vs Liverpool

Two Champions League matches take place today. A.C. Milan takes on Bayern Munich in sold out San Siro and PSV takes on Liverpool in sold out Phillips Stadium. A.C. Milan must make it up to their fans for the draw against Roma this weekend. Ronaldo is unlikely to start up front as Gilardino playing on top and Seedorf and Kaka playing behind him seems to be the winning combination. Bayern Munich will play with their strongest team including Roy Makaay and Lukas Podolski playing on top. PSV will play with their most experienced squad as Cocu will lead the midfield and Liverpool will play with their fastest team as Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy will be playing on top. Both quarterfinal first legs today should be a joy to watch as now only the elite teams are left in the Champions League.

Ronaldinho One Step Closer To Milan?

Brazilian Super-Mega Star, Ronaldinho is one step closer to play for A.C. Milan. Ronaldinho's brother Roberto Assis who is also his manager had a business meeting with A.C. Milan V.P. Adriano Galliani and Sporting Director Ariedo Braida. They apparently were disucssing Ronaldinho's future. It is being said that if A.C. Milan shall buy Ronaldinho it would be for an astronomic price. Ronaldinho currently has a contract with F.C. Barcelona untill 2011.

This Weeks Recap:

It was a pretty busy and interesting weekend in the elite soccer world. As always, more drama than in soap operas. 2 "grande" soccer derby's took place this weekend.
Inter Milan-AC Milan & Barcelona-Real Madrid.

Inter hosted AC Milan in a game full of drama. Inter started off aggressive and played much better than their city rivals. However, AC Milan were first to strike. Ronaldo scored a beautiful goal from about 20 yards. But, Inter are not the Serie A leaders for reason. Their quality showed in this match as well as they overpowered AC Milan 2:1. The scorers for Inter were Argentian J.R. Cruz and Bosnian born Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Another great match took place in Barcelona, Spain where F.C Barcelona hosted Real Madrid. Nou Camp Stadium was packed and the fans have seen more than they expected. Ruud VAn Nistelroy opened the goal tally for Real Madrid in the fifth minute, only for Barcelona's mega star Lionel Messi to tie up the game six minutes later. Van Nistelroy responded again only 2 minutes later to put Real Madrid back on top. Lionel Messi responded again in the 28th minute to make it 2:2. Before the halftime Barcelona's Oleguer got a second yellow card and had to hit the early shower. This really weakened Barcelona's defence which would show in the second half. In 73rd minute Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos scored a nice goal to put the Madrid team up front. Just as the ref was getting ready to blow the full time whistle Ronaldinho found an open Lionel Messi who had no problem scoring a hat-trick and saving Barcelona's chances of winning the Spanish Primera Division.
